Meetings
AW Writing Group – 3rd Thursdays
One of our member benefits is the monthly writing group. It's a monthly meeting where AW members share work and offer "gentle" critique. Our homebase is the Duncan Meeting Room of the Alleghany County Public Library. Some members come to the library location; others join in on Zoom. (Masks are optional in the main Library area.)
Meetings begin at 4 p.m. with prompt exercises and other readings as time allows. We offer feedback, share our resources, and partake in convivial conversation and impromptu storytelling. Sometimes we go out after the meeting for a little socializing. A few of the members meet outside the monthly meeting for critique and other special interests. New groups are always forming.
Established writers, new writers, award-winning authors, all are welcome to join.
We are a "fun bunch of wordsmiths."
