Now that Covid guidelines have been revised, everyone is happy to be back at our homebase in the Alleghany Library. We meet online and in person, 3rdThursday’s, 4pm. We have readings from the monthly prompt and other readings as time allows. The group offers gentle critique, sharing of resources, and writerly conversation. Meetings often includes a visiting guest speaker to talk about the writing craft, marketing, or the business of publishing.
Our education programs will expand your knowledge, spark your creativity, and strengthen your entrepreneurial skills.

Give back to the community by volunteering in one of our outreach projects.

· Alleghany WRITES – To promote journaling for creative expression and personal reflection.
· Alleghany Teen Writers – To support young writers as they develop.
Get involved with our Mountaintop Stop Literary Gathering, September 23, and Alleghany Rhapsody, November 6. Be part of a team that plans and presents our author events and other fundraising activities. Help us become a rural enclave for writers and other artists in our corner of Appalachia.
