Who We Are
An independent group of creative writers and poets who meet monthly to develop their writing craft.
Proceeds from donations fund speakers and workshops to support local writers and develop our cultural arts community. Donations also serve as seed money for community outreach projects.
Alleghany Writers is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
What We Believe
When we express thoughts and ideas through writing, we better understand ourselves and our place in the world. The more people write, the more people will read. The more people discuss, the stronger the lines of communication which allow communities to develop into a unique place to live, work, and grow.
Reach
We network locally and regionally with writing groups and arts councils, and are active members of the North Carolina Writers Network representing Alleghany County.
